Wigs

In the 18th century, both men and women's wigs were powdered in composition to give them their poles apart white or off-white color. Wig powder was prepared from finely ground starch that was scented with bittersweet flower, lavender, or orris root. Wig bray was occasionally colored violet, blue, pink or yellow, but was most often recycled as white. Powdered wigs became an essential Wigs for full dress occasions and continued in account until almost the heel of the 18th century.
